with Jill Camera
Saturday January 28th 4pm-5:15pm Sunday January 29th 2pm-3:15pm
$50 for the weekend
$25 for one day
This weekend class series is an ideal introduction to Vinyasa basics for students brand-new to yoga and experienced beginners alike. Vinyasa “flow” yoga brings together body, mind and breath through the use of asanas (postures).
Saturday, we will develop our grounding with standing asanas and work with the introspective nature of forward bends and the uplifting quality of backbends.
Sunday, we will weave our asana practice together via the classic Sun Salute A, considered to be the “backbone” of Vinyasa style yoga..

FOCUS OF THE MONTH
A Fresh Start
Written by Jill Camera
Doesn’t it bring a feeling of joy just reading the words FRESH START? What better time of year to begin anew and fresh but at the start of the NEW YEAR.
All spiritual traditions have their weekly day of rest, and this serves as a “pause” to re-evaluate, re-boot and re-align one’s values. Most spiritual traditions also have their own special beginning of the religious year, a time to purify, prepare and renew one’s faith.
All around the world, the New Years Eve celebration is our universal and global cultural holiday to “pause” and begin fresh once again. Every year at this time billions of human beings anticipate the dawning possibility of peace, prosperity, and personal transformation. And, of course, make billions of “New Year’s Resolutions’. (Just for fun: can you remember what yours was last year?)
As yogis, we often use this time of year to re-fresh our practice routine: perhaps re-solve to come to class more often, start a home practice or simply to practice with more mindfulness and less competitiveness. These resolutions we know will support us in taking charge of our own physical health as well as our mental and emotional well-being. We know the peace and clarity a regular practice brings, and the efforts required to “get on the mat” pay in kind with a more balanced life and happier attitude.
